演讲嘉宾简介:

Dr. Yong-Mei Zhang is a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biochemistry and Microbiology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Dr. Zhang received her BS in Biochemistry from Nankai University in 1995, PhD in Microbiology from The University of Memphis in 2000. Her postdoctoral training was in Dr. Charles Rock’s lab at St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Using the human pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa as a model system, Dr. Zhang’s research focuses on the interactions between lipid metabolism and virulence pathways in bacterial pathogens, with the long-term goal of identifying new targets for the discovery and development of new therapeutics against P. aeruginosa infections. Dr. Zhang’s research is well funded and she has published over 50 papers in top journals in the fields of Microbiology and Biochemistry. Dr. Zhang is a member of the Scientific Research Society Sigma Xi, American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB), and American Society for Microbiology (ASM).
